Agreed 100%. I only watched the first Chibnall season, but something I noticed there was also that the Doctor wasn't really the main character. Graham, the white male companion, had the focus and the arc. The Doctor herself probably got less screentime and certainly less depth. The Davies/Moffat eras basically gave the Doctor an identifiable character arc across the series, with plenty of inner conflict left to explore, but that arc ends abruptly at Chibnall's start. Whittaker's trapped playing a shallow fascimile of the Doctor, because Chibnall doesn't seem to understand that the character's surface quirks are hiding a life with frequent pain, loneliness, and hard choices.
